WHAT IS THE "YES AND..." METHOD

The “Yes, And…” Method is a collaborative approach rooted in improvisational theater. It encourages participants to accept ideas (“Yes”) and build on them (“And”), fostering an environment where creativity and innovation can flourish. For example, in an improv scene:

Performer A says, “Look, a spider is on my shoulder.”
Performer B responds, “Yes, that’s my friend, Timmy. He’s a trouble-maker!”

​Instead of rejecting the idea (“No, I don’t see a spider”), Performer B accepts the premise and adds a creative twist, moving the scene forward.
